Gynecomastia
Gynecomastia, the overdevelopment of breast tissue in boys or men, can bring feelings of shame, embarrassment and humiliation to the estimated 40 to 60% of males that it affects. Boys or men with gynecomastia experience swelling in the glandular breast tissue due to an excess of estrogen or a lack of testosterone. Males with gynecomastia have large, female-like breasts, which can impede swimming or other activities where their breasts might be seen.
